Paul and Eve helped start a local
Christian television station that has grown to outlets in four
states and is still growing. They have appeared on Trinity
Broadcasting Network in Jacksonville, Florida, and Paul was flown
from Memphis to Pittsburgh, to be interviewed by the late Russ Bixler
and his wife, Norma, on Cornerstone TV Network. They are
available for guest appearances.
Paul and Eve have been guest speakers at
Full Gospel Business Men's and Women's Aglow breakfasts, luncheons
and banquets--both individually and as a team--in various locations
nationwide.
Paul and Eve are also members of the
Oral Roberts Ministerial Association and International Society
of Deliverance Ministers.
EVE'S STORY
An Astonishing Testimony
People are elated as she tells her story. Their eyes are fixed on
her, as she tells this amazing story of how God came down and
touched her as a little girl. They are visibly deeply impressed, as
she relates how the Lord called her to His service.
When
she was twelve years old, her uncle offered to take her and some
cousins to the movies on Saturday night to see a Deadend Kids film.
Her father, who was a deacon and Sunday school teacher in the First
Baptist Church, told her the church was having a revival and she
would have to go there first, to be able to see the movie. She did
not want to go to the revival, but she wanted to see the movie so
she went to the revival.
During the service she came under conviction. She made her way
forward and began praying. As she tells it, there was no altar
rail, so she made her self an altar. Some women gathered
around her and prayed briefly with her, and then the pastor came
over. He bent down and asked her if she wanted to join the church.
She said, “No sir, I want to get saved.”
The
next morning, when her parents were getting ready for church, Eve
asked her father if she could take the new Bible he had given her
and go up around the pond and pray. He agreed, so she ran off
across the field and laid her Bible on the ground before her. It
was opened to the Old Testament.
Then
she spoke to God. She said, “Lord my Daddy knows all about this
Bible, I don’t. It seems to contradict itself everywhere I read.
Would you please show me how to understand it?”
She
continued, “I truly thank you for saving me. I want to live for
You, but I need to know You. And I need to understand what it is
You are saying in this Bible. Please show me.”
This is where I began getting
astonished. She told me that a “wave” came over her. The wave she
was talking about, I eventually came to realize, was a move of God.
Invisible power from on high had stirred her mortal body. The gifts
of the Holy Spirit, as described in First Corinthians Twelve, were
being imparted into her. God Himself was giving her supernatural
ability to understand the spiritual endowments hidden from the
carnal pursuer in the pages of the Bible. God was answering Eve’s
request.
She told me – as she would in time tell
many others – that, as the wave came over her, she could hardly keep
her feet on the ground. She danced about the meadow in euphoric
pleasure.
As
she danced beneath the trees, completely enraptured in the Lord’s
presence, she began speaking in a language she did not understand.
That did not impress her as much as the actual Presence that she
felt throughout her entire being. She had never seen nor heard
anyone speak of such an experience. She knew nothing about this
spiritual enduement – being clothed with power from on high.
When
the wave eased she returned to her Bible. That’s when she
discovered that the wind had blown it’s pages from the Old Testament
to the New. God had turned the pages to Acts Two, where she read
the description of the 120 receiving the promised baptism in the
Holy Spirit they had prayerfully awaited for days.

ENCOUNTER WITH GOD
A
Totally New Experience
One Saturday evening, between Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday,
Eve and I were sitting in our townhouse on the far west end of
Miami, trying to find something appropriate to do. We decided we
would find a dark and empty church to sit in for an hour, while
Jesus lay symbolically in the Tomb.
We
don’t know how far we drove or how long. It was as though we were
in a trance. When we “came to,” we were outside the car,
approaching the entrance to a very unusual church building. It was
a large, round, ultra modern Charismatic Catholic Church. It
resembled a flying saucer coming up out of the ground.
The
front doors opened to a passageway which led to the main sanctuary.
Inside, it resembled a sports arena. Seats and stairs rose around a
platform at the bottom. A fully garbed priest stood to our right as
we entered that large darkened room. We nodded acknowledgment of
his presence and stepped through the doorway.
The
place was dark but not empty. Every seat was taken. People sat on
the stairs and all over the floor area. We sat on the floor just
inside the doors. The priest followed us. He walked up to the
platform. He ignited the contents of an urn on the table. A flame
shot up towards the high ceiling.
He
spread his arms wide and shouted loudly, “He is risen! He’s alive!
He is risen!” Music began like I was not at all familiar with.
Hands were clapping and people were dancing. The priest delivered
a mighty, anointed sermon on reborn salvation. I was awe stricken.
I was experiencing something I had not participated in before.
At
that point, a beautiful warmth filled my entire body. I knew it was
God. Somehow I realized it was the Holy Spirit. I was truly
experiencing church for the first time in my life. I was getting
something out of it for the first time.
Eve
and I left there holding hands. There were tears in our eyes as we
seemed to know right where to find our car. At last, we agreed, we
had found a church we could attend together.
